PROTOTYPE 1
New Features:
Melee weapon, Boss Battles
Testers highlighted the following areas needing improvement:
UI too small: The text and icons are extremely tiny, making them nearly impossible to read during fast-paced combat situations—this is especially problematic for critical information such as cooldown timers and remaining ammo.
Controls feel awkward: The default key bindings are not intuitive and difficult to remember; furthermore, some actions feel counterintuitive, which interferes with smooth gameplay.
Enemy health bars invisible: It is challenging to determine if enemies are close to defeat after prolonged battles, which complicates pacing and strategic decision-making.
BOSS encounters: Boss fights feel overwhelmingly oppressive, increasing player frustration rather than engagement.
My personal impressions:
Melee combat is fast-paced and intense, but charging in without short invincibility frames or protective super shields introduces significant risk, often resulting in quick player damage or defeat.
Immediate fixes (by priority):
Enlarge UI elements substantially to make them as clear and prominent as possible during combat.
Improve the controls by redesigning a control scheme better suited for the top-down gameplay style.
Display enemy health bars consistently, especially for elites and bosses, by keeping their health bars permanently visible above their heads, complete with stage indicators to signify progression through the encounter.
